Normally I like your posts, but this makes no sense at all. I wish I could recommend a therapist to help with this sort of problem.

I was an obsessed Rockets fan in the 90s. Probably more so than I am now.

Whatever. I've been a fan since the early '90s and have nothing for respect for Stockton, Hornacek, and Sloan (with a mixture of respect and hostility for Malone). The Jazz animosity has become a ridiculous caricature of itself, like an old affectation one must keep up just to avoid admitting it was always merely an affectation. Free your mind; those guys are all dead and buried; there are teams playing now that can be rivals.

I'm not surprised that he would admire them. I'm way surprised that he would declare them "the best of all time." That covers a lot of territory and a hell of a lot of great player combinations.

OK, but I'm still surprised. I guess we are all influenced by those we watched during the course of our NBA fandom, even former NBA head coaches. That's OK. He's entitled to have his opinion, like the rest of us. And that trio was very good. I hated them (still do, I suppose), but they were very good.

There are some hate that I don't understand. For example, I don't understand why people hate the Spurs and David Robinson.

I do understand why people hate the Sonics in the 90s because they always beat us and they had the alleged illegal defense against Hakeem. The Jazz are hated mostly because of their dirty tactics and the "home court advantage." I have a lot of respect for Stockton. Malone is just some scumbag who had tons of basketball talent.

And I know Karl Malone is into wrestling, and 18 wheelers, but I still don't think of him as white.....he must be using the same stuff Sammy Sosa used.

Jerry Sloan is still around and teaching his Jazz players the same BS tactics they were using 20 years ago. That's reason enough for me to keep hating the Jazz.

nobody who was a rockets fan in the 90's would claim to be fans of those 3. and to claim that stockton was your favorite non-rocket - disgusting! you either stand with the rockets and all that is good in this world or you stand with the utah jazz and all that is evil and lame. there is no room for fence-riders in this war. ITS FOR LIFE YO!

and how can you claim that you have been a rockets fan since the 90s, but never realized the intense jazz hatred till you got on clutchcity? did you watch any of the games even? ive been keepin' it real as a hardcore jazz hater since the mid-90's, but i never even heard of clutch city till about 2001. i didnt need no website to tell me to hate the jazz.

so do you forgive the nazis too? do you "respect" hitler as well?

Good for you. I liked the way they played. Their basketball was tough, crisp, and efficient. I enjoyed watching Stockton run that offense like a machine.

The Jazz only played tough while they were roughing up their opponents with cheap shots. As soon as it fit their purposes, they would turn to pansy flopping. It's the same garbage we see from them today.

The sad thing is, they could have come together in 1984, but the Rockets decided to keep Ralph Sampson.

Stockton/Malone/Hornacek - never won anything... No way.

    Russell/Cousy/Jones
    Bird/McHale/Parrish
    Jordan/Pippen/Rodman
    Magic/Kareem/Worthy
the other, better Malone/Dr.J/Toney (or Cheeks)
    Olajuwon/Drexler/Cassell
    Shaq/Kobe/whoever
    Wilt/West/Baylor

When he was coaching the Rockets, his favorite trio was...

    Rafer + Juwan + Bowen.

(Ward, Strickland, and Oakley off the bench)
