I say nothing at all. Why can't we be the team that he springboards to after having a good season. We're giving him a good hard look despite our backcourt glut (so maybe he will appreciate that). We'll have our MLE next year or the year after to offer if he comes back to form. And if he's going to be worth more than the MLE in a year or two, he's not going to stick with us anyway. He'll go to a team with capspace.

And the problem with signing him isn't that he's not better than what Ward or Moochie is giving us. But the fact that he wants to play and get minutes when he returns 100%. He doesn't want to be a 4th string guard that isn't going to get much pt. We have a tenuous backcourt chemsitry-wise already.

Besides, we already have 16 players on the roster, so Ward will probably have to be cut. If J-will comes aboard then we'd have to jettison Baker or Moochie's expiring contract. Or Bowen who we just signed this year. Either way it would be a waste.

Let him go to Toronto, where he can get minutes on a losing team. If he plays well then we can go after him in free agency.

Only the staff... esp medical staff...that have been assessing him could really guesstimate the risk/reward here.

If we pull the trigger, great. But let's all remember that it would be a calculated risk. (I can't stand the hindsight that always comes later)

When's he coming back for a second visit? After another year of rehab? Doc Rocket, we could use a report 'bout now...

If we have his bird rights then we are not restricted by our cap space to resign him. And I am not saying that he will ever be that good, but considering the age of our back court I think we need to at least investigate the possibility. Of course The Rockets are looking at him pretty hard so I can except that they are doing their homework with him and will make the right decision.
