https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...ating-76ers-james-harden-participation-policy This article makes it seem like it’s the Sixers being investigated. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Don’t the Sixers have a right to punish players for conduct detrimental to the team? Is that not a personnel decision? I don’t understand why they’re investigating under the guise of the new player availability emphasis.
I didn't read the article but maybe it's if the absence was excused then why are they not allowing him to play ? It seems like maybe they are being petty by making him stay back.
I hadn’t seen that the absence was excused but if he missed any part of camp and preseason it’s not out if the norm for them not to play him right away bc you risk injuries when you come in fat like Harden does when he is in pout mode. Also, is it petty even if it is purely to punish him? The dude is trashing his organization and being selfish.
*stays away from team* “You need to report to camp or we’ll fine you.” *reports to camp* “We need you to stay away from the team.” *NBA: WTF is going on here?* “We're looking into the facts around James Harden's availability tonight to determine whether an approved reason exists for his lack of participation," NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement.”
If the NBA wants to irrevocably taint their "rest rules" from the start, getting them involved in this bizarre-o world situation is the best possible way to do it.
I love how Terance Mann - a 6-5, 27 year old slightly above average 3&D guy - (8 ppg, 13.3 PER, 38% 3 point shooter which is his only real + stat) - is now supposed to be the centerpiece for Jrue Holiday and apparently the stumbling block for even late-career James Harden? That is....bold. "Joel, we have you, Maxey, DeAnthony Melton and a bunch of stiffs, but here's Terance Mann to takeover some of PJ Tucker's minutes, how does that sound!"
When does Harden realize that the disrespect from the Clippers is worse than 76ers? When does the quitting for the Clippers start?
James is an idiot man. I dont blame him for forcing his way off the rockets and nets but this is just dumb. Being petty and emotional this late in his career is such a bad look. I'm so disappointed this is how he is choosing to end his career. He's never going to get the props he deserves. I'm not even sure a championship can help him now. People hate him that much they wouldn't mind moving the goal posts even more.
Yeah, valuing Holiday and Mann more than Harden is a clear disrespect. To be fair, at least the Clippers aren't liars.
