LOS ANGELES — The Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was killed in a shooting outside his clothing store in Los Angeles, multiple law enforcement sources said. Two other men were in serious condition, and a suspect remained at large.

No further information was immediately available about the shooting at Marathon Clothing on Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles. But just a couple of hours before the shooting, Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Ashgedom, had tweeted, "Having strong enemies is a blessing."

I defintley think this will have an effect on James Harden. Rip Nip:(

Didn't know of the rapper, but this sucks.

No one should be killed in cold blood like an animal.

I wonder what led up to this.

RIP and sorry Harden for your loss.

LOS ANGELES (WAVY/NBC) — The Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was killed in a shooting outside his clothing store in Los Angeles on Sunday, multiple law enforcement sources said.

Two other men were in serious condition, and a suspect remained at large.

No further information was immediately available about the shooting at Marathon Clothing on Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles.

NBC News reports a couple of hours before the shooting, Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Ashgedom, had tweeted, "Having strong enemies is a blessing."

Hussle's debut studio album, "Victory Lap" was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year's Grammy Awards.

Hussle had long been associated with the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, one of Los Angeles' largest street gangs, which he publicly acknowledged in a 2010 interview with Complex magazine.

He and the actor Lauren London were the parents of a 2½-year-old child; Hussle had other children from previous relationships, as well.

As news spread that Hussle had been shot, numerous performers and athletes, including LeBron James, 50 Cent and Steph Curry, quickly tweeted best wishes:

God please cover and restore @NipseyHussle right now!!!

Knew he and Harden were very close, didn't know they were childhood friends. Haven't heard of mainstream rappers getting gunned down these days RIP

Maybe he got"too big" and famous and the gang hierarchy was out of sync. Jealousy and maybe 'failed extortion attempt' was involved. Just thinking out loud/ guessing

No clue but I wondered why Harden always seem to hang out with them rapperz and musicians but got no musical bone.

Can't hit a tune right and does he play an Instrument?

The Footlocker Commercial even made fun of this.

He likes to dance to that hip hop beat as we know and see

Scary to think if Harden and some other NBA players were hanging out with him and could have got caught up in some crossfire. Yikes
