http://www.houstonchronicle.com/spo...es-Harden-Chris-Paul-has-endless-12243873.php By Jonathan Feigen "I've had more catch-and-shoot opportunities, he has as well, in these four days of training camp than we've had in a few years," Harden said. "It hasn't been tough because we're willing to share the ball … and make plays for our teammates and ourselves. I'm going to have that same mentality to score and create, but I don't have to do it as much because we have another guy that can do it on a high level. "It happens so naturally. We don't even plan it. Coach puts us in our spots and we just play. We figure it out. One time it could be me. One time, it could be him. One time, it could be both of us. We just know we have one goal and that's to win." How do you counter an offense with no scripted plays? Last year's Rocket's offense was still somewhat predictable, and we had top10 offense of all time. I am so pumped about this coming season! I think Ryno may eventually be worth the money by being the perfect piece in this offense. I mean Melo is nice, but what we need the most is someone who can convert opportunities into points at high percentage instead of someone who can create for himself. We got 2 super brains already, we just need the rest of the team to execute. Go Rockets!
Ryno in the corner more will make people happy. Closer to the rim and should cut down on his depth perception problems.
Ryno is going to have a legit year I think. If he can be an efficient 13-15 ppg this year then thatll be badass.
"We don't even plan it." might not actually mean we are running motion with improvisation like Kerr has said about GSW sometimes. He could just mean they don't call out the play, it just happens in response to where the ball is and the defense....particularly after misses. He could also just mean "we don't even plan" who is the PG initiating the play, and who is off-ball, as that was the context of the quote/question. It's still true that MDA's offense has heavy amount of plays, and is not a motion offense, except sometimes running a 5-out motion. I don't expect that to change. However, I do expect us to being able to use more of his offense, particularly the 21-Series (Pistol), since that is designed for the play to be initiated by the 1 and 2 ("21") from sideline action/picks.
