Hate to say it but not sure we can get more than a mid-first for Jalen. He’s got a fantastic burst to the rim, but has low bball iq. Could possibly get a swap for another disappointing draft pick like Jaden Ivey. Silas loves the guy and he’s with Detroit so that’s likely our best shot if Green doesn’t turn it around. Green is not the same player as last year due to having to bust his tail on defense which takes away from his normally great offense.
normally great offense? good lard... 47/34 49.3 efg still has bad shooting form still terrible defensively he's a bad player and has been since he became a pro
I want to trade him for Alex Caruso. More shots and touches for Alpi (he should be taking 30 shots a game with how efficient he is) and another defensive guard.
We need to move on….he reminds me of Cam Thomas of Brooklyn….Honestly, Cam is a better shooter than Jalen…..WE CANNOT PAY HIM THE MAX THIS YEAR….
I think you’d have to look at contending teams who see him as a talented scorer in that 6th man type of role. A contending team with no draft assets to try out young talent on their own and need to take more measured risks on young players not fitting well on their current team. Look at those type of teams and look at what players they have the luxury to part with. The add in at least one 1st round pick. I think that’s how you quantify his value right now. You need to know where the demand is first.
Alex Caruso? Yes that could work. If they trade LaVine to some other team for young assets and picks they could trade Caruso to us for Jalen…we would be a better team
Don't we already have this thread? https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...ore-the-deadline.321342/page-15#post-14912912 Also why trade Jalen if everyone knows that he sucks and is the guard version of Michael Beasley? You aren't getting any value back for that.
Jalen need a definitive role to gain value again.....like a super scorer off the bench but he has to hone his scoring..... He has to be consistent at scoring to do that. Other teams have no use for an inconsistent young player......who is a starter.
I like the idea of Green coming off the bench as a 6th man to help the backups score. No to Caruso as he isn’t good enough return for Green. We ain’t gonna get a ton, but should get more than Caruso.
I would give him the full year and even another 6 months till the deadline in 2 years. But he has to use that time wisely. Gives ample time to evaluate what we have in Amen.....and to a degree Whitmore.
If the idea is to move Green to build around Sengun, you need a deadeye shooter at the 2 guard spot that can also defend at a reasonable level. Two dudes that fit that mold are Luke Kennard and Trey Murphy iii ...... Either of them would fit with FVV, Villain, Jabari & Sengun. They aren't superstars and don't have that big potential but they are smart players who can spread the floor and defend which is exactly what is needed around Sengun.. The only real issue with Murphy iii is the injury that has him out until sometime around the new year.
I doubt there are any earlier takers who would give up very much so they are at least forced to wait one year......so no harm done.
So,is a 2 week stretch of being good going to completely shut down this type of absurd talk? Alex Caruso? Wtf is wrong with people?
It's the lowest it's ever been, so logically it's idiotic to think about it now since we have till summer to decide. I must say though, every single SG on the roster is struggling with space going to the basket. Amen, Cam, Bullock and Green are all underperforming relative to expectations. Even FVV next to Holiday had struggled badly getting to the basket. It's almost as if we just started implementing a new system/coach/rotation 12 games ago and there are still tweaks to be made.
