If Jalen Green didn't make stupid mistakes in those road games, we easily have 3 more wins.

I agree that we don't have good backup center is problem, but it's not biggest.

If our bench could sustain the momentum and maintain our leads, then we don't need to depend on Jalen for creating shots when our offense becomes stale

Excellent commentary. I've been making the Clarkson comp here for years and getting hate on that, but really, a solid scorer and a 6th Man of the Year archetype would not be so bad. let's hope Jalen can get there.

Never heard of this guy before - he lives in Houston, but doesn't seem to be a Rockets fan? Would be interesting to see him make a video about Sengun...

We can merge this with the Sengün thread.

Haven't given up on Jale completely yet, but must admit I would be willing to possibly lose an extra game or two by starting Cam Whitmore in his place. Alternatively make Cam the second scoring guard for 10 games sooner or perhaps later. Udoka must be having some thoughts about this. Both have some deficiencies but the question is whose deficiencies are more correctable.

Which road games are you talking about? The Clippers game where Kawhi fouled him late in the 4th? Sengun had 6 TO that game are you blaming Sengun as well? How about the Dallas game where the team went 8 for 29 in threes? Was that all his fault? Or how about Sengun doubling Doncic in the post leaving Green to have to scramble late to get to the paint. Once again fans are blaming one player while absolving others. Earlier in the season Jabari was the target of hatred and to some degree Amen. Who’s next?

So is it that some people just don’t like Green no matter what he does? Perhaps this is what it’s all about? Disregard the fact that in multiple games he had key blocks and stops defensively or made plays for Sengun and others despite not scoring 30. Nevermind the several games he took over past couple seasons with 12 30 pt games and 4 40 pt games last year. Point is he has undeniable talent and ability and growing and evolving. He may not be where you want him to be but he is developing and growing and helping the team in other ways. It’s always been a team sport not one individual and Rockets have a lot more problems than one player.

Can isnt a 2 guard bro and hasn’t shown anything. You honestly think if he’s that good that Udoka is holding him back?

If you really watch those games, you know Green is the reason. His is the momentum killer in clutch minutes.

If we had a SG can consistently put up 18 pts per road game, we wouldn't lose those games.

    Very well put!

One caveat though, most third year players didnt have Silas for the first two.

You can blame a lot of shiit on Silas .... but one thing is certain, that offense generated a very large amount of open / wide open 3's and Green missed them at a very high rate. (so did everyone else)

Ime's offense is getting him quite a few open looks in the mid range and he's shooting .313 on those.

He should start a new career as a bricklayer.

Thus is Based on what? So the other players not performing is negligible? All the onus put on one player?

He is shooting 35% mid range and shot 40% last year and 38% rookie year. His numbers are lower this season and I wonder why. While 40% mid range wasn’t elite it was better than what he’s putting up this year. His minutes and touches are down and seems he is struggling to fit into a system featuring FVV and Sengun and I contend this is the reason for the drop off but he is still finding ways to help the team. This is the growth. Players evolve.

Probably because he's not that good of a shooter in general.

That’s a convenient thought process but doesn’t necessarily explain the phenomenon. There’s many factors and variables you’re not taking into account such as usage, role, style of play that may explain the dip. Btw Rocket fan favorite Anthony Edwards shot 36.8% mid range last year in his 3rd season.

Forget about Booker and Lavine. Maybe we should compare Green to Westbrook--not saying that he is there yet. Athletic low IQ inconsistent shooter.

A taller, better shooting, but less energetic Russ isn't too shabby. :D
