I hope the writers give him a chance to shine, as most of the time, the show being bad is usually on them. https://www.houstontexans.com/news/j-j-watt-to-host-saturday-night-live
The timing seems rather odd. Thought he would have been on three or four years ago. I guess he was rehabbing those other years.
He seems to be a pretty good actor form his commercials, not unlike Peyton Manning and Baker Mayfield. Maybe this is his chance to show what he’s got and get a part in the next Terminator movie since he and Arnold have a bromance? PS shout out to Arian Foster’s decent acting in Draft Day.
The Rock, Peyton and John Cena have been really funny, Barkley too I guess, and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone. I just don't want to watch him embarrass himself.
It was not good. The bits weren’t funny and yes, lots of race and sex jokes that didn’t fly. They half assed this one compared to the stuff they came up with for Adam driver. The Rudy skit was really bad. I did like the kicker joke tho’.
He did a good job. Some of the skits were good. I'm sure you'll see a lot of "SNL hasn't been good in 25 years" comments around the web. These come from people that don't watch it. All the skits are on YouTube. Check it out.
Writers didn't give him a lot to work with. The pizza delivery sketch was pretty good, so was the locker room "Rudy" one.
