It is now actually time to get excited about the vipers . And we will have a chance to call guys up soon . we have 3 real prospects on the team . Obviously porter jr , in addition , Brodric Thomas and Kenyon Martin Jr. both have some real potential . But, the latter two don’t have nba ready body’s yet . Thomas grew in 4 inches in college I think and hasn’t yet acquired nba strength . Kmart has the athleticism , but not the shooting yet . but their ceilings to me are very high. Kenyon Martin could be a mix between Danuel house and Landry/Patterson good parts of both. Thomas could be a malcom brogdon / Shaun Livingston type player . porter jr and Thomas both have plus defensive projectability . I’m not sure about Martin jr . I’m excited about a Gordon/kpj/Tate 1-2-3 . Use our resources to get another frontcourt player to pair with wood , or gamble and use k-mart . anyways Thomas can be a backup guard . Hopefully wall can get moved or will accept a lesser role . If not we should prolly trade one of wall of Gordon (rather move wall) around next trade deadline .
Sweet. It's like a menagerie of players nobody else wanted, were available, and everybody thought the Rockets should pick up or start. lol.
I haven't watched the Vipers much this year, so I haven't watched Daishen, but is this one of those "G-League runs" where average players are turned into hoop gods? Daishen was highly-regarded in high school, but was more of a player who created for others. Even from what I saw early in the NBA/Summer League, it didn't look like he was going to be much different. I've noticed lately he's been attempting shots like a maniac which was a knock coming into the draft on him. He was always a pretty good passer, but his shot/scoring was suspect coming into the NBA. Even in the G-League from the highlights I've seen, it looks like lot of his buckets are probably layups, putbacks, drives, etc. He's a big dude for a guard. I mean, chunky-sized. He reminds me a bit of a bigger Kyle Lowry (even before Lowry lost weight). Kabengele, Queen, etc. Everybody seems to have had a stretch of a few games where they've looked all-world on the Vipers. Hopefully Nix is a steal in the draft. Even if that means he's a bench player, but a solid one.
