    Oh.My.God!

did you actually type that with a straight face??

I can see you dont actually live in the 'burbs.

My house is almost 30 years old...and my total lot area is maybe 1/8th of a acre

I have been looking at the newer devlopments for a new house...and theirs are even SMALLER.

it isnt about the big yards...you dont get big yards out here unless you buy houses out in the sticks that actually have a acre or so around them..but it will cost ya..
Suburban subdivions are all about shoving the biggest number of houses on the smallest area of land..
If you are gonna generalize about us crappy burbs dwellers...at least get your facts straight.

Kinda surprise to read this from a Texan (I guess you are, right?), ain't Texans pround that Texas has no shortage of land?

I am not saying the newly developed lots are necessarily bigger than old ones, in fact I agree they are smaller. But while you are making comparison temporally, I was talking about the tendency of the sizes of the lots/houses going spatially, that is, by and large, the farther away from city limit, the more square footage you get per $ amount. Don't you agree on that?

BTW, I do live in the suburb, and have the first-hand experience several years ago when my wife and I were seeking a house. In the end, we had to choose to buy a bigger house far away and sacrifice the convenience of daily commuting to where we work.
