yeah i just realized that watched the first two episodes of the season last night -- the premier was SOLID though last night wasn't bad it had its moments but not as awesome as the premiere
Adam is pure comedic gold in Workaholics. Just even watching his face while the others interact has me cracking up.
"Be careful with your wishes we only get 2 more." "I want to live forever." "I wish you don't live forever!" LULZ.
Mac and Dennis move to the Suburbs, McPoyle vs. Ponderosa: The Trial of the Century, Dee made a Smut Film, all fantastic, all directed by Todd Biermann. Charlie Catches a Leprechaun, just meh to me, directed by Heath Cullens. All of the other episodes in season 11 sucked hard, and they were directed by Heath Cullens. Hoping the 2 part finale The Gang Goes To Hell is great. Episode 1 is directed by Biermann so the hopes are high.
I dunno man, "Being Frank" was pretty good... I've watched the show since (almost) the beginning and that one at least kept me interested, it's like the show has really fallen off on some of these...
I was really looking forward to that episode because much of it is stolen from my favorite terrible movie of all time Ski School. Even down to Dean Cameron being in it. Alas, they found a way to make it not work at all...other than Charlie. He was awesome in it. His sex scene was hilarious. The "Being Frank" episode was pretty funny, too. The rest have been not great...
Looks like I'm the only one who hated the being Frank episode. I couldn't even finish it. I really don't enjoy him on the show at all. Just not funny to me. Always funny "Dee, you damn b****!"
I have to disagree. That episode was one of the best of any season IMHO. The cameos from actual 80's ski movies was funny. The shot for shot parodies and satire was spot on, and step above some of the lazy shock value stuff they've fallen into this season. Staring the tropes from those movies was brilliant, and the meta-comedy of not rationalizing the reason why Dennis and Dee could all of a sudden ski like pros was funny and a good risk as well. Having the characters still stay within their own range but also filling into the 80's ski movie tropes was great stuff.
I Loved the ski episode and the most recent one, 2 best of the season for me But I love old ski movies and was a ski bum/lived in a ski town for a while, so it may have been especially relevant to me I also actually liked the Suburbs episode (but I also love The Shining). Without those few episodes being geared specifically towards me, I totally get he complaints this season
I thought the first episode was the least funny episode they've ever done. I don't think I even chuckled once. I get what they were trying to do...just didn't think it was funny at all. The water park one was more classic Sunny and was pretty funny.
As someone who religiously watched this show when it started (in non-HD) and enjoyed the first four or five seasons immensely, and then only occasionally after the material got stale, I agree with you 100%. The water park episode is outstanding.
"I got AIDS!" Yeah, that was more in line with classic Sunny. The Frank and Charlie pair ups are always amusing. Did anyone else notice the GoT creators as the water park attendants?
