Israel approves plans for 3,400 new homes in West Bank settlements

The fact that the Israeli minister has already said that the new homes in and settlements is a response to the attack is an example of collective punishment. The settlements are already illegal, collective punishment is a war crime, and that is simply fact and something that Israeli officials have said. It isn't Hamas propaganda or any of the other tired refrains we hear from those that embrace bigotry and dehumanizations.

Furthermore it will make Israel less secure, ensure more support for Hamas and other anti-Israeli terrorist organizations. It would be far better for Israel to withdraw to the 67 borders pull their troops back to guard Israel, and not have to use them to protect the illegal settlements.

 

Why would Israel have 2 million Arabs within Israel (with full citizen rights), but the "Palestinian" Arabs cannot accept 3,400 homes in an area predominantly populated by Arabs?

No. Palestinians aren't now and haven't been allowed to police their own territories. Settlers that commit crimes against Palestinians aren't subject to Palestinian law enforcement.

 

Settlements and collective punishment are illegal war crimes. Palestinians have had their own culture and heritage for thousands of years.

No. I'm not fine with that. However, building Israeli only settlements in Palestinian Territories and not allowing Palestinians to have any way to protect their citizens from those settlers is something different.

How many Jews are there in majority Muslim Arab countries and Iran (where there used to be many Jews)?

Are there more Jews in all the majority Muslim countries in the Middle East combined than there are Muslim Arabs in Israel?

I'm bothered by many many discriminatory policies in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, UAE, etc.

I know there are large numbers of Iranian Jews who would like to still be able to settle in Iran. But in much of the region there isn't large populations wishing to settle. So Iran probably tops the list. They have numerous other problems of oppression and descrimination.

They aren't an ally of the United States.
