Is there a player in NBA history less worth their career earnings than Ben Simmons???

This man has made $125M in his career with another $37M AAV incoming, which will land him at $237M before any outside money.

Michael Jordan's career NBA earnings were $94M ($152M adjusted to 2023 from 2003 dollars).

All of this to play 275 regular season games with 13.5 points, 7.7 assists and 14.7% 3 point shooting.

    WHAT THE HELL?

Is there a bigger fraud in NBA history? His agent (RICH Paul), the GMs who signed his contracts, and anyone who ever wanted the Rockets to pick him up should be blacklisted by the league.

I'm not sure Chandler Parsons or Russell Westbrook or John Wall are even in the same tier of fraudulence.

EDIT: After further review, Westbrook's career earnings are at $335M. That's just absolutely mindboggling.

lol., if I made $37M/year for doing "back rehab" and hanging out at clubs I'm sure I could do the same.

Ben Simmons doesn't actually like basketball...he decided to play it because he was talented enough to go pro and attain a level of lifestyle he never would've achieved otherwise

since he doesn't like basketball, actually putting in the hours of work required is very difficult for him

Not saying the NBA is like med school, but how many people could sit there and study for hours upon hours and go through years of residency while actually not liking what they do? Some will push through for the money and status, but many won't.

Ben Simmons will do the bare minimum to get by and nothing more, and to this point, it's worked well for him considered how much money he's made

He could have been great but he didn't want to be. Such a waste for a guy who doesn't love basketball to have that much talent.

There are too many clinical analysts in NBA front offices these days--the human element matters, and one of the first questions they should ask when spending a high lotto pick is, "Does this guy love the game of basketball?"

It's shameful Carmelo Anthony and Chandler Parsons have made the same exact amount of money in the NBA. Heck, he is only a couple of millions short from Durant. Shameful.

If you take their MRP and compare it to the actual salary, and then factor in the value of last 3 minutes of clutch play in each game, you can do the calculation on the biggest frauds in the NBA. And determine who is being exploited. This not only takes into account Win Shares and production and salary, but additionally the financial impact of their play on the value of the franchise

This method was used to determine who was more valuable to the Lakers during the Shaq/Kobe era. Shaq was in fact more valuable financially in terms of his value to the franchise/production/pay. The Lakers just didn't care.

O’Neal was a total of about 6 wins more valuable than Bryant with respect to the team’s on-court performance and about 7.65 million dollars more valuable with respect to the team’s revenues.
