OMG. Other teams would want something of value in a trade in exchange for giving up something of value? Stop the presses...it is just too difficult for trades to occur because the other team will want something of value to them.

I am just amazed that people are shocked and act with hyperbole because I think other teams would want something of value for a player that even if healthy, does not have positive trade value because he is paid what he's worth (or overpaid depending on a person's valuation of a healthy FVV).

Please continue with a snarky remark. Trading FVV likely won't happen because trades are difficult, so go ahead and feel superior, and trading FVV adds the difficulty of getting him to accept the location he's traded to, in addition to typical trade issues (matching salary, how many years are left on deals, etc.). That said, the Rockets should do their due diligence even if it is unlikely to happen.

Please continue to poast your way out of the Fred Van Vleet 2025 0% trade trilemma - the only way out is through.

At the cost of known quality and great depth. FVV was greatly over tasked last season but this iteration of the Rockets he would just be a great connector / hopefully closer to his career ~37% 3pt. 48 minutes of Reed and FVV sound pretty good to me.

The development of our young core has been sometimes inconsistent so I'm not just ready to move on from FVV because of Reed, Amen, and Sengun based on how they look today. We still have both the mid season deadline and off season to make a decision an evaluate our playmaking situation.

TLDR, I just don't think we have enough evaluation/info

I don't think it really matters, Fred isn't going to approve of a trade where he loses his bird rights .... we'll have to see where the team is next offseason as well as Fred's health along with what the team might need.

    no.

until the organization and ime need to decide whether to play reed at PG or Amen at PG.

and i mean every game starting 30+ minute a game at the point guard position.

Fred will not be traded. We just have to hope for a great buyout pickup when the time comes.

Should Stone trade Fred, either this offseason or next season?

Maybe. I think FVV gets shat on a lot for no reason on this board. I think Reed needs to be the starter going forward. I'm not optimistic in FVV coming back at his level last year. Rockets could use a PG that is switchable on defense and can shot threes as Reed's backup.
