Of course there are things that the Iraqis do (like this) that upset me. I think the remarkable thing, however, is the unique tolerance and goodness of the society in which we live. My impression is that things such as this story are the norm for human societies, while our style of tolerance (even with its imperfections) is fleeting and rare, and should be cherished and protected as such.

Good pos. l Our imperialism sadly makes good aspects of our society like our tolerance seem less attractive to parts of the world that could use more.
