Really? You are extremely embarrassed and ashamed about this?

    Yao just released a statement:

"It is always an honor to be voted in as a starter for the All-Star Game by the fans. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me as I continue to rehab from my surgery."

It's a good think Yao got voted as the starter because everyone else on the ballet did not deserve to be an all-star. Now someone actually deserving to be an all-star starter will be chose.

Maybe he also felt embarrassed for Shaq and VC fans when they got voted in while being injured too? As long as one's consistent... :)

Who else in the West deserves to be an All Star?

It was good that Yao was voted in. Now the NBA can pick a star caliber player for him instead of the rest of the other non all start centers in the ballot for the west.

Imagine if any of this guy was vote in: Bynum, Nene,Marc Gasol, Emeka, Haywood, Camby etc.

I don't mind Yao being voted in either, also I get sick of people blaming the Chinese votes on him, when reality, the centers in the West suck for the most part.

Does Stern have to choose a center? None of the centers on the Western ballot are worthy. Could Stern choose Duncan?

If you're the average NBA fan and you read through the list of centers you probably just bubble in Yao's name anyways. I don't know how much of this is actually the Chinese vote.

Well I'd for one like to see Blake Griffin start over his place. He's entertaining to watch.

Chinese votes are powerful really, remember McGrady ALMOST being chosen in starting five when he was in reality injured as Yao now.

Yao brought so much capital to the NBA and Rockets.

I like how dumb some people are thinking it was China's vote. China's votes wasn't counted. majority of the votes were American votes. I mean think about it, who else are you going to vote? Chris Kaman?! Give me a mother f**king break!!

There is really no All star center to vote for the west.

Bust it, why not just the top 2 leading vote getters be captains and pick your team down the line of who has qualified with the most votes. Like a pick up game, the NHL is doing it this year and it should be pretty cool.
