I'm surprised a lot of folks just answer their phone if some random number calls. Unless you have some specific business where you get public calls, I don't see the purpose of answering. That is the reason one has voicemail.
It wasn't an IRS call but i just got another spam one 25 minutes ago. Now we have clients at my firm calling us in panic because they're getting these IRS calls saying they're going to show up and arrest them if they don't pay their "delinquent tax bills".
For every person who is trying to make an honest living...trying to people or to make the world a better place...there are these scums who needs to be wiped off this earth. i have zero tolerance for people who scam or prey on the weak/innocent.
"I TOLD YOU ALREADY! - I DON'T WANT YOUR WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION! HOMELAND SECURITY! HOMELAND SECURITY!!" hang up
I've been watching a bit more random afternoon TV the past 10 days or so because of how hot it's been outside, it's ludicrous how many payday loan, reverse mortgage, annuity purchase, etc...ads there are.
Yesterday my phone started blowing up with calls/voicemails that my iCloud has been hacked. They started off as Arizona originating phone numbers but now today the calls are coming from all over. A few coworkers also started receiving these calls.
Well, **** me. These spammers are now group texting 20+ people and I'm stuck in a group thread of people telling the bot to **** off. Is removing yourself from a group text possible on Android? I already muted the notifications but I still see the new messages.
the worst ones are the remote access scammers. it's hard to make out what they're saying because of their indian accents and they're the most aggressive of the lot.
I still have a 713 area code phone number, but rarely get 713 calls anymore, so it's easy to spot one type of robocall spam. The first 6 digits of a caller will be identical to mine, with only the last 4 different. This is a hack of the packet header info for VoIP robo caller to replace the Caller #. They are actually calling from a different number, but will hack the number to look like it's someone I should know. I've even been called from myself -- lulz. The robohack actually hacks the number to be exactly my own. so, all 713-669-xxxx calls are spam for me. Wish I could block an entire 4 digit range.
I never answer these, but mistakenly thought my daughter was calling so I picked one up today. They said I was on a recorded line and asked if I could hear them OK, so they could get me to say "yes", which they would later use as proof that I agreed to sign up for something.
