You know, they always talk about the dreaded " Tall Puppy Syndrome" here (in Sydney)... maybe people in China are suffering from the same disease :)

    What does it mean?

Check out this article about an Australian band:

Given that Yao is earning what a few hundred people combined earn in China... it is not hard to understand. (Oh well, he probably earn more than 500 of me combined ;-|.)

i dont have problems with what insider being quoting. small city in china, local paper, etc. etc. what i have problem with is the title of the thread, insider. if you think this is 'really funny' i really dont know what to say to you. unless youre trying to make a name of yourself. either way, its sad.

The funny part of the same article that was not shared was the proclaimation that the gang of four has been officially rehabilitated to be cast in a positive historical light from this point forward. Additionally, the cultural revolution shall be hereinafter referred to as the "generation of peace and love."

I don't see any thing funny at all. Of course, some people in China may not like Yao, but who cares, I believe most of us like him. By the way, this not a place to talk about the poverty of whatever in China, let's just talk about Basketball, don't go too far.

This is probably one of the longest "still going" threads I have seen that has NOT been locked but should have been locked after the first post... :).

I am starting to think that Clutch and DoD let some of these threads fester for a few days in order to embarass the thread starter into not starting another silly thread ever again. ;) :p

"Yao sucks" catches more eyeballs than "Yao rocks" these days. It's like saying "Jordan sucks" would certainly lure his fans to read the shi$$y arguments. There is nothing funny about that.

I am not aware that I accidentally called Yao a tall puppy, besides him being one big elephant (now, where is *that* thread?)

Yao obviously didn't like being any of these... 0 point so far... that's bad, really bad!
