Dun count out Lillard and McCollum out just yet.

Good on them for doing what it took all year to get the 2nd seed. Good on them for being able to rest stars when they could and keep the 2nd seed. We choked too many games throughout the regular season and they didn't.

Honestly, I'm glad we are facing the Warriors first. We can be the ones to finally knock GSW out of playing in the Western Conference Finals. That would be so dang satisfying.

All the blame is on us for not being able to close out the Thunder. The Jazz series was a better preparation against an elite defense than anyone we could have played besides the Worriers. This team espically needed that mentally and experience against the Jazz than last year, where the full year was a preparation. After the Jazz series, we were better prepared to take either Game 1 or Game 2, Game 1 being more likely due to their series going 6. That didn’t work out due to the refs and league bias. The Rockets could have closed this series out in 6 and be well rested and prepared for WCF. It didn’t happen so we must work harder now to win the next 2 of 3.

I'm not worried about Denver. They scurried of the next round and they should be.

This series with the dubs... Much harder in the effort cuz we older.

At least in future rounds, if we make it, we can rotate scrubs.

You're clearly not watching Jokic these playoffs. It is his first playoffs and he is tearing it up - he is actually decent defensively compared to last year. They make rookie mistakes but have a stellar starting four and a good bench.

Did you see them come out and trash the Blazers today? Any team could easily have folded after the quadruple overtime thriller (which they could have won four times in the waning moments of each overtime but made stupid plays). They have heart and their defense is underrated.

Plus side is that we will get the lob to Capela back because he can keep up with Jokic, but they are a much stronger team than the Thunder (which many on this forum were terrified of facing).

19 rebounds last night was no joke. Man, I think Morey would have to abandon small ball against them or Jokic would have a rebounding and scoring feast. Clint and Nene wouldn't be bench warming it like so much of last game.

What are you even talking about? Of course Capela is playing next round he’s like 11-0 vs Jokic, the nuggets have no shot to beat us if we beat Warriors. I’ll be shocked if we don’t sweep and win every game by 15+. But Scott Foster will show up one game and we will lose.

"Clint won't be bench warmin" aka Clint will play. You're saying the same thing.

Never underestimate the opponent. They aren't scrubs. They DID come out ahead of us this season.

No kidding. Nothing else matters except game 5 Rox - Warrors. All this talk of next round is interesting but making any sort of assumption we are going to participate in it is foolish. We are still the big underdog here.

By 1 game after all the injuries and turmoil and roster changes we suffered. Please. They are trash. They’ve lost before the series started. They showed they were scared of us by out right losing a game on purpose. If you go in fearing your opponent you already lost.

The Nuggets' plan only worked because the Rockets p-ssed away that final regular season game in OKC. If they don't squander their 14-point 4th quarter lead, they get the Clippers in Round 1 and the Nuggets in Round 2 with home court in both.

Maybe in the end, it won't matter if the Rockets go on to defeat the Warriors. But I have no animosity towards Denver. The Rockets put themselves in this situation.

Excuses don't work. We had lots of games we just choked a lead away. Regardless, Denver isn't trash and I don't fear them.

Denver matchup with us is mostly about Jokic and Millsap vs Capela, Faried, Tucker, and Nene. If we win GSW, we can easily show how to contain their guards with CP3, Rivers, and Gordon. Everyone else such as House, Green, Faried, and Shump can also become playable adding to the depth.

No one on that team is considered a shot blocker so gimmicky defense against Harden won’t be as effective and we can live in their paint with Harden, CP3, Gordon, and Rivers and pretty much whoever can drive off of 3pt line like House.

Beasley and Craig are the only ones that shooting above 40% from 3 pt line, with Murray being 33%.

Key is containing playmaking of Jokic, rebounding g, and Milsap in the paint.

I have NO CLUE what you are talking about if Paul George misses the last second 3 in the corner the Rockets would have been the 2nd seed? So Denver had nothing to do with the Rockets becoming the 4th.. GEEZ

Denver went to 7 games with San Antonio
They will probably go to 7 games with Portland

    That's not an easy road

I am not quite sure what you are trying to say but....Denver had nothing to do with Rockets not becoming the 4th seed. They didn’t miss the assignment of covering George and contesting the shot. That was all Rockets and I didn’t see one Denver player on court that game.
