I-35 Bridge Collapse: New Orleans II Conservative Economics in Action.

That's Governor Tim Pawlenty. As I said in my previous post while I place some blame on the Feds I do have some particular ire for the Pawlenty Admin.. I doubt those outside of MN know much about Tim Pawlenty but his Admin. has been marked by all sorts of accounting gimmickry legislative gridlock and questionable penny pitching. He appointed his Lt. Governor Carol Molnau who had been a frequent critic of MNDOT to head MNDOT under the reasoning that that wasn't a position that needed to someone full time. Under his Admin. he's had budgets that cut backs on several key areas of the government including education and infrastructure improvement.

 

Less than 14 months after the collapse of the I-35W bridge into the Mississippi River the new bridge has been opened in record time, almost 3 months ahead of time for when it was supposed to open.
