Horford is not coming. Durant is not coming either. I hope people are aware of that.

I don't have my hopes up for KD but Horford is absolutely a possibility.

Let me tell you this: everything you dont want to happen will happen this summer, including:

    1. Howard stay
    2. Jones stay
    3. Brewer stay
    4. Lose DMo
    5. Same coach

The nature of this organization and its underlining intelligence will lead to this almost for sure. Well, looks like Hinkie has learned to hire and work with true basketball people, while we simply stick to basketball new comers, math genius, etc.

Once Harden starts bs ing with stupid turnovers bench him. All this team needs is a coach with some balls and a owner that want fire him for doing his freakin job. These losers aren't winners until they win a championship... send that message to Howard and Harden. If they don't want it bad enough them ship them off and start over.

You're an idiot. The idea is to surround Harden with better players you don't get rid of elite ones because they're not Michael Jordan.

No player in the NBA can win alone.

Hire Thibs. Find players he wants. Do whatever it takes to never have Brewer play another second for the rockets.

    I would do the following:

    - Not re-hire or extend JBB
    - Send Dwight off the free agency
    - Offer Horford a max contract
    - Find a way to dump Brewer
    - Resign Beasley and Goldilocks

The next steps depend on KD honestly. If we can miraculously convince KD to come here, then my steps would be:

    - Hire a coach that KD and Harden want
    - Use the remaining money to get 3&D guards
    - Move Horford to PF next to Capela
    - Have D-Mo come off the bench with Beasley

If we can't get Durant, I would:

    - Offer max to Conley
    - Try to arrange a sign and trade for Barnes
    - Trot out Conley-Harden-Barnes-Horford-Capela

As much as I don't want to get my hopes up on Durant, I usually do every offseason with the "new" free agent we can possibly land ala Lamarcus Aldridge, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony. I even got my hopes up with Dwight... and he came here.

This is the ideal free agency period for me:

The cap rises... and I mean RISES from 66mil to an expected 89mil. That's a $23m increase. That gives us the room to sign an (almost) max contract if that's the case.

Dwight walks. That frees up 22m.

Give Brewer away to a team with cap space. Send a pick to make it worth it for them. That frees up nearly 8m.

    $45 million. That's a big number.

Throw $20m at Conley, and the rest at either Whiteside or Horford.

sign fill in the blank free agents.

    sign Raphaiel Putney

    Conley/Bev
    Harden/Eric Gordon
    Ariza/KJ/Putney
    DMo/Beas/Montrezl
    Whiteside/Capela

Step 1: read how we get the room for those two contracts.

Also, Eric Gordon is stupidly injury prone. I got doubts he'll be making anything more than Ariza. If I were him I'd sign a one year deal with the most I can get to up my value and get healthy.

I would go after two way players in free agency(NO SPECIALISTS), use the draft, and get players with high upside and even some sleepers especially PG & SF & PF, and get a coach who can actually draw up plays and play players who give effort and don't suck. Also, trade bad players and let other bad players walk like Brewer, Jones, and even Ariza because of his decline.

Turbo was the man! Can we start a bring back turbo (but a younger version) movement?

    Who says no?

End up 9th, get the #12 pick.
    Win the lotto.
    Draft Brandon Ingram.
    Sign Durant.
    Sign Horford.
Trade Ariza and Beverly for Kyrie Irving after Cavs lose in the playoffs.
    Match DMo.
Bring over Sergio Lull (if we can.. probably not from cap perspective at that point).
    Find under-appreciated backups.
    Hire a legitimate coach.

    What do I win??

    THIS!

We need a coach that has input into building the team - not just a Morey lackey... I love DM, but dude needs to be the GM and stop hiring yes men to do his bidding! Let DM run the front office and get a coach that can run the team and systems...

otherwise it really doesn't matter what free agents we're able to get... imo..

Been keeping an eye on a few players, would love to know if anyone has any info/analysis about these players. I think they would be non-flashy great building blocks who could suit next season's style of play.

Ian Mahinmi: his last two games aside, he's improved a lot this season. They actually worked very closely with him this summer to polish his offensive game a bit. He's a decent defender and a very good team defender. Active, smart. I love his background, having played for Popovich, Carlisle and Vogel. When good coaches seek you out, it says a lot. He works very well in Indiana's active offense. Assuming Howard leaves, I think he would be great to use along with Capela.

Allen Crabbe: seems like a nice young player, vey good shooter off the bench for Portland. His defense looks good to me but I only watched one game, haven't looked up any stats. I think he's an RFA this summer?

Thaddeus Young: I watched a few games and man would I love to have this guy on the team. Tough, hard working, quick, SHOCKINGLY good post player, active hands. Seems like he could be almost as good as Horford for us. Would love to see him in transition outrunning opponent PF's. He must want out of Brooklyn right? What would it take? I know they've said they want to keep him but I would try to get this guy from them.

Eric Gordon: Nice bench player. I feel like Ariza is no longer capable of guarding quick 6'4 guys and lord knows Harden can't. In those situations I'd love to put a quicker defender at the 2 and Harden guards the 3. I wonder if Gordon can be revived as a defender? He's a great 3pt shooter and we need more of that. He might even be able to run the point occasionally on this team, he's a decent passer. Health is a concern. He's an FA this summer.
