I bought one of those 5950 New Era Tigers hats and was looking online for tips on curving the bill when I ran into sites saying that you could shrink the old hats made of wool by taking a shower in them and letting them dry while on your head.

By this point I was ready to put my hat on and go take a shower - then I realized my hat is 100% polyester (all the 5950 hats are now).

The only thing I can find online tells you to shower with the hat, then bake it in the oven at 300F.

    Anyone else have a suggestion?

the new 59/50s are polyester?!??! wow that's crazy. the "old" 59/50s were real easy to shrink in that all you had to do is just sweat and the sweatband shrinks (or gets thicker) for a tighter fit. I'd say if you have the receipt or can take it back, I would just do that.

After you shower with the hat on put your head in a microwave for thirty seconds.
