How thankful are you now that the Melo trade didn't happen?

Except when it’s home court or off the dribble or any type of coverage

Ryan Anderson a wide open only shooter [or way beyond the arc] streaky three point shooter

I'm only interested in the impact this has on the Thunder imploding and Paul George becoming available at the deadline.

This! Now the majority of us with common sense said from jump if it's Ryan plus EGO/Capela it's not worth it and it definitely wasn't. Ryan's been surprisingly good on defense.

Having said that Billy Donovan is r****ded. You all can say what you want about Russ he IS THEIR BEST PLAYER. Having him come down the court, give the ball to melo, and move out the way is idiotic. They needed people to help when russ is locked down or not hitting, they didn't need the ball taken out of his hands

Nah, Melo would have feasted off Harden's and CP3's playmaking. Wish we had him, but I like our wings.

You rather have Anderson and his contract versus only 1 more year of Melo contract?

With Melo, his contract is up after 2018. Anderson....

It's too early in the season to make snap judgements.
The reason for getting Carmelo is not for the regular season.

Look back at the playoffs where Harden is off and Anderson is missing shots.
A proven multidimensional scorer would help the Rockets.

It's about the playoffs. it's ALWAYS ABOUT THE PLAYOFFS

And that's why we got Chris Paul, who actually is an elite player...Melo is nowhere close.

Watching James and CP at their best later this season will be poetry in motion, and I'm just thankful there isn't an iso blackhole around to mess that up.

Chris Paul and Carmelo situations are completely different.

It doesn't matter if you dislike Carmelo, lots of people do. He was brought into be the third scorer not the primary or secondary (Chris Paul).

The reason we didn't get Carmelo is because Ryan Anderson makes close to 20 million a year.

The Knicks would be stupid to get Anderson.

Carmelo would have replaced Anderson in the lineup. That's a much better upgrade.
I don't care what Anderson does in the regular season.

Olympic Melo may be a myth in the NBA, but, I think this team had the best chance to get it out of him.

First of all, as you say, Harden and Paul create for others.
2nd of all, MDA understands Olympic Melo. This is why in NYC he TRIED to get Melo to play PF. Melo wasn't having it, but MDA understands that him stretching the floor like that (While also being able to blow past any PF on him) is part of the equation.

I think he would have been great here personally if all we give up is Ryno basically.

I don't think the Westbrook thing will work out, we'll see, but so far nothing has convinced me that it will yet.
