The wet markets have been around all over the world since the dawn of civilization. It's more likely bats, pangolins and other animals were experimented on with bio engineered viruses and a few got out of their labs back into their natural populations. The Spanish Flu was thought to originate there and so they named it the way most diseases are named. That bit of info is not relevant and I am well aware of that fact. I also heard it likely started in China. For your info. If we renamed it we could name it the CHINA FLU. But I think Spanish Flu is fine because that's where it was thought at the time and it's a dead issue.
