The deadline to opt into the final year of his contract is June 29th. Considering we have no cap room to sign him outright, we would have to acquire him in an opt-in and trade scenario ala CP3. So theoretically, we COULD find out very soon, but June 29th is the deadline.

If the 29th passes and he doesn't opt in, it means he didn't choose Houston and is going to explore his options in Free Agency. If he wants to be a Rocket, he needs to forego any meetings with other teams (including Philly and LA) in order to sign with us.

well that makes things very cut and dry. I can’t see him not covering all his options and meeting with different teams.

I’m no mod but it’s just downright inconsiderate to start a garbage thread fully knowing you’re just creating extra work for the people that help run this site.

Lebanese women can always play on pippendagimp's team. Although they may have to come off the bench whenever Swedish hotties comprise the starting unit.

I have a hard time seeing LBJ not surveying his options entirely. S&T would still be an option if he didn’t opt in correct? ( Question posed to whoever)

A sign and trade would hardcap us. If LeBron wants to come here, I doubt he would willingly freeze our flexibility just so he can talk to other teams beforehand.

But it will be a big challenge to get him here. We have to trade Ryan Anderson with assets to a team in exchange for non-gt'd contracts while simultaneously hoping we can maintain enough assets to give to Cleveland for LeBron -- all in exactly 3 weeks' time. I don't envy Morey this month lol.

Can’t cavs and LeBron mutually agree to extend his opt in date? Didn’t CP3 do that last year?

Did anyone see the post game interview after game 3? its like LBJ was planting seeds to the media that he was leaving to build another super team to dethrone the warriors.

Lebanon is firmly on the side of the PLO against what they view to be an Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. It’s a conflict that seems eternal. How many days to count down? Magic eight ball says “It could be a minute”, but stay tuned.
