@richardjustice Richard Justice Rockets came close to trading for Golden State C Andris Biedrins last night and will continue discussions in the days ahead. That makes sense to me. I don't watch much Warriors ball but he seems reachable and good enough. Mostly from looking at stats he is going to play defense, is not going to demand the ball, must run well (he does play for Golden State) and is 7 feet tall. How about Scola, Bud and Hill? Salaries work and either team could throw in a pick if it made the difference.
Scola and Budinger? Two starters for a guy who is out of the rotation and owed $27 mil? Overpaying for a player some consider a bad contract. You can take a flyer on the guy but to actually give significant talent for him? No thianks. Rockets offer is likely some expiring contracts/young guys like Thabeet/Hill/Squid. I'd rather have Asik by FAR.
Is the part about ongoing negotiations "breaking news" or is that already mentioned in Clutch's thread? I don't remember seeing it
I'd rather have Asik too, but he does not seem to be available. I don't consider Bud a legit starter. And Hill is just a salary throw in.
I didn't see it, but right after posting I realized this probably should have gone in the random trade post.
His contract is awful. He's not even close to being worthy of making $9 million per year. He gives you zero offense (worse than Chuck Hayes at this point) and isn't even all that great on defense. His main attribute is rebounding. Oh yeah, and he's got two years left on his contract, with a Player Option for a 3rd. Not to mention he's missed 70 games over the last 2 seasons.
If Golden State agrees to throw in its unprotected 2012 1st round pick, and we only have to send back a package of our 2009 lottery busts, then maybe its worth considering.
