Since our OReb% has gone down with Adams' injury, and we are getting fewer possessions, we need to compensate for this by being better offensively. One way to do this is to shoot more threes. The Rockets as a team do not shoot enough threes, so they need to unleash Reed, increase the variance, and let him develop.
Incorrect. The Non-Reed offense went from great to average in mid-November. The Reed offense went to toilel aound January 1st. The non-Reed offense has bounced back a little lately to being above average, but not enough to counter the Reed minutes. Adams being out has basically made the bench weak AF, but Reed's shooting woes were what sent the Rockets offense to the toilet. Though Adams being out, will make it harder for the bench to get better. Reed was expected to be a high TS% guys.
I was being sarcastic. I know Reed's shooting matters a lot. But relying on a practically redshirted sophomore to sustain the offense at a high level is kind of thin though. He is expected to be inconsistent. To me, Sengun's low efficiency is a bigger concern because he's supposed to be our second best offensive player. I am surprised that Tari is below league average while shooting so well from 3. And he played one of the least total minutes among the regular rotation guys. All in all, even after adding Durant to the team and playing him high minutes, our shooting efficiency is still pretty bad. Offensive rebounding is still our only saving grace.
KD is 3rd in minutes played at 38 years old. That will at some point come to show its ugly side in the 2nd half of the season or playoffs. They need to reduce his minutes drastically but they can't because they have no offense without him.
This is why the Rockets offensive rating is a misnomer. They do NOT have a good offense especially without Adams gobbling up all of the bricks.
Not sure why he used years rather than seasons, and where he got the data. According the NBA.com stat site, the Rockets opponent FG% ranking in the last 5 seasons: 29th 21st 5th 6th 5th (this season) Lies, damned lies, and statistics.
The lack of a competent PG is inexcusable. Stone is an absolute moron for painting the team into this corner. Why go for DFS over a ****ing perimeter playmaker?
Happy Birthday to Franchise Fred. It may not be our year but it’s definitely your day! Sending you and Udoka lots of love! ❤️
We're actually still a great rebounding team even without Adams. In 24 games this season, we're grabbing 46.8 rebounds, which would still be good for #2 in the NBA behind only Miami (down from #1 with Adams though). We have decent to great rebounders in almost every rotation slot, and while Clint is no Steve-O, he's still one of the better rebounding centers in the game. But yeah we are really bad at scoring the ball, we just get more chances than almost every team.
