Shoot me now! We need an offensive minded HC. We know how Muschamp coaches without a decent OC. Im not even sure he can bring in a good OC.
If they win, it won't matter... but yeah, Cougar football is synonymous with offense... you have to light up the scoreboard in this town to draw eyeballs.
Prediction: Muschamp comes to UH, wins 30+ games in 3 years... Strong flops in Austin and Muschamp is hired away by UT... Donny hangs himself from the roof of Hofheinz Pavillion
Muschamp would be great for UH. Y'all should be happy, not uncertain how you feel. Defense is going to go a long ways there and you can probably keep your pee-pee points Sumlin offense if UH plays its cards right.

Likely Auburn DC or Houston HC.</p>— Joe Schad (@schadjoe) <a href="https://twitter.com/schadjoe/status/543487449264320512">December 12, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
We already have an outstanding D coordinator in David Gibbs, whom we know wants to stay. Our offense has pee-pee'd out, and that's the main problem. There's nothing to say that Muschamp will fix that. The fact that Muschamp's name leaked after the interview (when the AD apparently asked for discretion) tells me that Muschamp is using this as leverage for another job.
We thought Levine and Bush's offense was terrible. Offenses under Muschamp is terrible as well. His two OC's he hired (Weis and Roper) have flopped.
Ditto the above. Wouldn't want him as HC. Offense stinks. 3 offensive coordinators in 4 years. Poor QB play too. Easy to say "Yeah! Just hire an OC and you'll be good!" QB situation here also a question mark. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The ironic part of Houston interviewing Muschamp is that his downfall at UF basically mirrored Levine's: Bad losses, bad OC choices</p>— Dan Wolken (@DanWolken) <a href="https://twitter.com/DanWolken/status/543491475401883649">December 12, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I just read a r/college football thread about the Muschamp Houston rumors, and they all think he'd be a great get for UH. There's a reason that so many SEC schools are desperate for him to be their DC, and they think that he's probably learned from his mistakes at Florida offense-wise. Not that they know anything about our football program, just interesting to hear an outside perspective.
Almost any coach that has success at UH is going to leave. And any coach that fails at UH is going to be fired. If UH wants someone that will stay, they probably need to find a good older coach that other teams won't want to steal away if he has a little success.
Report: Muschamp on verge of being named Auburn DC <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Former Florida coach Will Muschamp will be Auburn's new defensive coordinator per a source.</p>— Thayer Evans (@ThayerEvansSI) <a href="https://twitter.com/ThayerEvansSI/status/543597190258491393">December 13, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
