First up, NEVER refer to them as massage parlors. That is an old term that has a seriously negative connotation, as you have seen. Second, look for a good registered massage therapist with some training in rehab or physical therapy. You might consider an acupuncturist to help with the pain. I was a massage therapist for a number of years and it was because of the weirdness that people in America seem to have about being touched without being jerked off that caused me to call it quits. There's only so many times I can answer the phone and explain to some GUY (yes, guy) that I don't do "extras." Plus, I was married at the time and had women on at least 2 occasions proposition me during a session. Awkward and inappropriate. A good massage is a really good thing. It's a shame we as a society are so uncomfortable with things like touch that we turn everything into a 13-year-old joke about masturbation.
Don't know if it'll help your shoulder, but Memorial Hemann SW has(had) a 1 hr intern masage for $29. Please post what you eventually do. Good luck.
out of curiousity, if it took marie 10 minutes to saw a board into 2 pieces, if she works just as fast, how long will it take her to saw another board into 3 pieces?
