North Korea has failed to complete their nuclear weapons and they're broke. This implies that sanctions sought by Donald Trump has actually worked (and further implies that Xi Jinping has cooperated). The Chinese got caught trying to smuggle supplies into NK and got called out. The Catching, then calling out China and motivating them to actually cooperate made the difference. That’s why everyone is reporting that. The Trump administration took a hardline stance (and took it seriously) against NK and China and it worked. As much as some people hate it, the trump administration actually does deserve a lot of credit for this, however hard it is for some of you all to accept.

It’s not even a theory, that’s exactly what been reported. People are bending over backwards to ignore it though since god forbid Trump get credit for anything.

They accomplished a number of bombs. They shown ICBM that can reach the US. This idea that they don't have enough already is wrong. They already have enough to destroy major cities and can even hit the US. The only argument left is will it work. I think it's very dangerous and wishful thinking that what they have won't work.

What is it you think Trump did to deserve credit?

I agree with JV that he didn't change the Obama and Bush policies toward NK. I will give him credit for that. I'm fine with not giving him credit for anything else reflecting on my character. I believe that is the correct assessment of the situation.

I have actually given credit to Trump for his change in some of the Veterans issues. He actually deserves credit for that.

He is putting pressure on China to put pressure on NK. I personally believe China is scared of tariffs damaging their economy

    We are their biggest customer

He didn't tie tariffs in any way to their pressure on NK. I'm not sure what new China has done either. NK finished the Nuclear testing they are armed and able to hit the U.S. So now it behooves them to work to get some sanctions lifted.

Just pointing out the irony of the thread starter’s moniker. That is all.

Trump has ordered the pentagon to begin mapping out a troop withdrawal from South Korea.

If that's the trade he made, I think we can all agree that it is a foolish one.
