So hes going to be an RFA this summer. I think he has a chance to be a really solid contributor. Seems to be a really good shooter, solid defender. I like his upside. Thoughts?
Championship teams fish for their on Allen Crabbe in the draft, they don't overpay for Allen Crabbe in the market.
you are right. but I think he can still get significantly better, to the point where it would be worth an FA contract.
I'm pretty sure Crabbe is gonna go with Doc Rivers and the Clippers. The Pelicans might end up catching him, too. The Rockets not so much.
That's a spin on Morrey's quote: "The teams that find the Chandler Parsons, not the ones that pay them the max, are the ones that succeed long term".
Speaking of Morey's quote, Crabbe reminds me of Parsons when I look at his 3-pt shot. Its almost a line-drive shot. Crabbe also defends, rebounds, and cuts to the basket well. The ball seems to find him too. I see hes restricted but I think hes in line for a really nice payday. Someone is gonna offer him alot and I think Portland wont have a choice except to match.
Portland will just match. They have plenty of money to burn this offseason. If I were a hot free agent I'd be trying to join them, not Murray's Rockets.
This. He's a good player, but he's a 3&D player. An expensive one, at that, when you factor in the price you'll have to pay to pry him away from Portland. We're not talking about a player with tremendous upside that can put the ball on the floor or create offense for others. He is what he is: a pretty good defender that contributes very little when his outside shot isn't falling. I'd rather take my chances with KJ.
