Hawes was having a breakout season earlier this year, when the Sixers i think had the best record and the best +/- differental in the NBA, he gets hurt and they barely make the playoffs Hawes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ASIK
People here didn't watch him this season when they say he is soft or plays no defense. Guy was a beast when healthy.
Why do you guys think Hawes couldn't get an offer for more than 2 years $13M from any of the 30 teams in the NBA? He's not even a restricted free agent. What do you think Hawes is worth?
More than Asik, also Hawes is a very underrated passer, and was averaging double-figure rebounds when he was healthy( earlier in the year)
First of all dude, whatever weird love/hate built up energy you have with DaDakota needs to stay between you, him, and your imagination. You seem to see him in posts that have zero to do with him. If you love him just tell him dude! I don't need him to tell me squat about basketball. Second, who in the hell is Asik going to protect playing 10-14mins a game? And I find it amusing that you think it’s "stunning" that I'm not turning flips over Morey throwing $8mill + at Asik. The fact that we're throwing this kind of money at a bench player reeks of desperation and tells you where we are as a franchise. It’s almost a "better than nothing" acquisition and those rarely work out. Whatever kind of player you think he will be as a player is a projection because he hasn't played big minutes. In basketball defense is a team effort, if you’re "BBIQ" was where you think it is you would know that it takes team & scheme to slow down great teams in the NBA. Thibs is a master and the Bulls are stocked full of plus defenders. (Boozer sucks but Rose, Deng, Gibson, Noah, and Brewer are outstanding). Asik alone is not going to turn the Rox defense around. The culture has to change as a team. Thing is I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
If we was worth more than Asik, he would have gotten offered more than Asik. Certainly more than $6.5M/year for 2 years. Leaving alone HOU's offer, the Bulls offered Asik $6.5M/year for 4 years (max allowed for Early Bird FAs).
Philly's efficiency differential with Hawes on the court: -3.7. With Hawes on the bench: +5.7 You are clearly talking out of your ass again.
Exagerate much? Hawes averaged 11.5 pts,8 reb. and 51% fg% vs Bulls. He averaged 7.4 pts,5.4 reb and 41% fg% vs Celtics.
So " I watch Spencer Hawes single handily destroy Asik and Noah in the first round on the playoffs" actually means that he scored 21 pts. with 9 rebounds on 7-15 shooting in game 4? Sorry for not picking that up. So, I'll ask again ...exagerate much? How about that Boston series? Still want to stick with him playing pretty well?
