I promise it’s a team friendly contract. cmon lakers - I’ll take pat bev and give you a first round pic
Not enough? Ok ok ok - I’ll give you Stephen Silas too. He’s got a great smile. That’s worth something, right?
Can he even get traded now after signing his extension? Thought there was a 6-month moratorium. But of course we're going to have this thread anyway because our fanbase is top-notch
I always thought we were building KPJ's value to involve him in a trade package for a real star, but that would be a Morey move, not Stone. The reality is we are getting calls for the guys that arent even playing, so maybe we need to not play KPJ so much, make people think he is a hidden gem, may be too late for that. I miss the times we were able to pull Kyle Lowrey and Goran Dragic out of thin air as our point guards.
You're at least half right. He can be traded because he signed a rookie extension not a veteran extension.
Because of his extension I believe it would be very tough to make happen financially, Kevin is here until next seasons deadline at min, at that point maybe we can trade him as a filler, whoever gets him can waive him.
What’s your favorite KPJ move? is it when he doesn’t touch the ball while walking it up court like he’s surveying the field for an intricate offensive set? or when he goes one on five and lays on the court after a bad miss leading to a fast break that you only see him on the screen at the end of the play?
The risk with the KPJ extension was that it’s starter’s money and his future on the team is not as a starting guard. The other problem is that the alternative is to lose him for nothing. Also any team interested in him wouldn’t want to pay $20 mil to kick the tires, let alone give up assets. When one considers that the extension was absolutely unnecessary, yeah, it’s right question it. Overall though, not the end of the world.
