For those of you who failed American History, The Enola Gay is the B-29 bomber that dropped the first Atomic Bomb on Japan. It's in the Smithsonian Air Museum. Cool virtual tour of the cockpit: http://www.davidpalermo.com/data/slideshow/4/enolagay/index.html

Hey, let's all pretend we're the pilots of the airplane mission directly responsible for the mass incineration of thousands of innocent civilians! What jolly fun for the whole family.
do you also pretend to be a nazi gassing jews when you look at pictures of auschwitz? it's a piece of history. happy new year, ya knob.
It's actually at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia. I didn't know that when I visited last year and the sight of the Enola Gay totally blew me away. Udvar-Hazy is a great museum. The Smithsonian is a national treasure every citizen should visit if they get a chance. But if you are into aviation in particular, do yourself a big favor and take a drive out to the Udvar-Hazy.
Every historian agrees on two things: 1) it was a difficult decision to drop those bombs and 2) lives were saved in doing so. I'd neg rep you a trillion times if I could.
Another great aviation museum is the US Air Force museum in Dayton, Ohio. I recently visited there, and was blown away by the place.
honestly, i still feel a little strange about it. it may have done exactly what you say in your points above....i'm still not comfortable celebrating it.

I wish we would nuke more countries now a days instead of getting into a drawn out war with them. How nice would it have been to nuke the entire middle east? Freaking oil.
