Even though Mike hasn't played a ton in preseason Patterson hasn't either. We already have 3 solid PF's, and only two SF's in Battier and Bud. And Mike earned some honors in the NBDL. Patterson could stand some work in the valley for a while to work on his game. I think Mike, Ish and JT earned their spots to fill out the roster and Patterson goes and works on his game in the valley for a while. Yao Miller and Hayes as our C's Scola Hill and Jeffries as our PF's Battier Budinger and Harris as our SF's Martin Lee and JT as our SG's AB Lowrey and Ish as our PG's
No, I think he will be on the Vipers, unless there is an injury or trade, then he will be called back up.
I like Mike's effort but he's a PF the size of SF, the so-called 'power small forward'. He wouldn't be helpful as a SF backup. Plus unless the rules have changed on me, Patterson down in the valley still counts against the 15 man roster. So if they keep Ish and JT then Harris is the odd man out. Patterson got time at the 3 in Vegas and he'd probably be the 2nd backup to that position rather than Harris based on talent/potential.
I think the MVP honors he earned will at least get him a spot up to the trade deadline this year. I think he may have finally got his biggest shot yet to make the team. He has to take advantage of whatever opportunity they give him this year, though. I am not sure there will be any more ops after this stint.
1st: Even if Patterson is down in the NBDL, he still counts as one of our 15 players. So, you have one too many if you want Harris on the team. So, you can't have both along with Ish. 2nd: It's Lowry.
You're right - forgot about the NBDL designation as a roster spot. they defintely won't let Patterson go so maybe it will be between JT and Mike.
Is there a cap on how much he can make in the D league? (I don't know anything about the D league's salary rules etc.) Harris could probably dominate in Europe. In fact, I would know a team that could really use him.
how much money did he make from all the oversea, d-league and 10 day contracts? i mean i wouldnt feel bad for him if he made more than an average american did ($2million plus) and hes living a comfortable life.
This will most likely be the Rockets lineup: 1.Shane Battier 2.Aaron Brooks 3.Luis Scola 4.Yao Ming 5.Kevin Martin 6.Chase Budinger 7.Kyle Lowry 8.Chuck Hayes 9.Brad Miller 10.Courtney Lee 11.Jordan Hill 12.Jared Jeffries Inactive/D-League: 13.Patrick Patterson 14.Ishmael Smith 15.Jermaine Taylor With adjustments, like Smith in place of Jeffries, but this is just what I think.
That sounds realistic. I think it will be a 9-10 man rotation most nights. Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries probably will not play much, perhaps a bit on the nights Yao takes off.
Can anyone answer the question how much he makes in total in year like the last one? Just to have an idea what it would take to sign him for a European team.
