The guy you describe may be the 3rd best player but that only happens on a team like the Rockets or Clippers wherein they have 2 superstars already. Look at De Andre Jordan, he's technically their 3rd best player but he was also the difference between contender and lottery/fighting for 8th spot.

But Jordan without those two stars is .... Not a star. It's CP3 & Blake that play to his strengths that makes him what he is (along with the freak physical ability). But without those two throwing him lobs , he's .... Just a guy.

Put him in Denver , Charlotte or Philly (or any number of other teams lacking star players) and he's not a blip on anyone's radar.

Put him with CP3 & Blake and he elevates their game just as much as they do his .... He's in the perfect situation.
