Just like a clockwork. How many times have we seen this? It keeps happening again and again, yet we turn our blind eyes in the hopes that he eventually turns it around. Look at Harden's body language when the game is on the line; no confidence whatsoever. Maybe it's the way he plays that is the problem. When the defense really locks down on you, all those tricks and crafty moves are just not as effective as the ability to physically mow down the opposition such as LeBron or Westbrook. It's just not as effective as Curry's ability to shoot the lights out. Harden is great, but we need to realize that he is limited in a significant way. Among all the superstars, Harden's game is probably the most likely to breakdown during crucial stretches when the defense gets locked in. Also, he's just not that mentally strong. We desperately need another player that can take over the game by himself, because Harden alone is not going to do it. Maybe it's time to demote Harden to a second fiddle tier type of player to another superstar. Or maybe, it's just time to move on.
I thought he had turned the corner this year but after tonight's performance I have lost all confidence in him. From now on I will continue to expect the worst.
Ok Rockets fans... You cannot complain that Harden's game sucks in important games and completely ignore the times that Harden's game does not suck in important games. Harden's the only star on a top-tier team without another star. This is going to happen. Yes, tonight was especially horrific, no doubt, but every time Harden has a bad game or bad end to the game, it does not mean that there is some existential crisis with Harden's game.
He's a loser, plain and simple. His numbers might be nice to look at but he doesn't have what it takes
Another star does not do anything for his untimely turnovers. Did it help Westbrook to have KD? No. The facts are that harden HAS to protect the basketball, and he has to make winning plays down the stretch.
These will be the same dudes that talk about how great he was when he's gone. You never appreciate things when you have them. Harden wasn't the only problem. Lou and Gordon were scrubs the entire game. 7 man rotation = dead legs No rebounds (Probably thanks to dead legs) Manu and Green stole this from us.
Harden's game does not suck in important games - by important games you mean those games we are leading by 25 in the early forth and he was 1 rebound and 1 assist away from the triple double? Sure, I think lots of the fans will remember how hard he worked to get those rebounds and assist before sitting down for good.
Turnovers are his biggeat problem.but you have village idiots like larsv8 and others defending that saying oh TOV% or som other crap Thay and dribbling air out of the ball down the stretch running down ahot clock but that is a Mcfail thing whicj will take sometimw to rectify
A fair criticism, no doubt. He has to take care of the ball. Tonight was an especially bad display of that.
No, more like we wrapped the game up in a nice looking box, put a bow on top, and begged Manu and Green to take it from us.
