9 turnovers in any statline is horrific. But 9 turnovers while being non aggressive and sleepwalking on defense is unacceptable, ESPECIALLY in a crucial 2nd round playoff game. You guys can keep making excuses. But Steph Curry's not a great defender either, but I havent seen ONE game where he looed disinterested & bored. This is a huge problem for the future of our team. Especially knowing Harden's history in not showing up playoff time. Its a legitimate concern

Listen up people, the Rockets will win this series in 7 games. Losing one game at home in a 7 game series happens all the time. Granted, you dont want that loss to be in game 1, but whatever, it happened. To win a series, any team must be prepared to win at least 1 road game, and sometimes 2 road games. We have a great road record this year. Last time we played at the Clippers we won, without Dwight.

The Rockets will rise up and show their true character tonight with a great win. Have some faith Rockets fans!

I haven't lost faith in Harden nor the Rockets. I believe they can win it all...BUT they need to come to play.

It seems there's quite a consensus out there regarding the MVP voting as a contributing factor to Harden's lack of aggressions, focus etc last game. Human nature is certainly possible and it is what it is.

Game 1 is over with. Done. I will say that if that were a contributing factor (only Harden and God knows), it's still a bit disappointing that a high profile, high caliber superstar could/would put his team in a not so great position because of it.

I really hope he can put the MVP stuff behind him for good now starting with Game 2 tonight.

To an extent, he plays what the "D" gives him on any night. But game 1 he was noticeably "overly willing" to give up the rock very early before the defense really "clamped" down on him. He wouldn't really drive to the basket or create for penetration and dish as much as he usually would. This is not so much the "defensive scheme" but he just didn't look very interested in the game.

As fans, we want to see the REAL James Harden have fire and fight to drive to dish, finish or draw fouls. He just willingly went through the motions as a passive facilitator.

Harden and this whole team was in shock after not winning the MVP, it's time to get mad about it. It's time to focus that frustration on winning games.

How many playoff series do we have to wait? He pitched a dud last year against Portland as well.

So is your suggestion that we trade a top 5 player in the league? For who?

    And Jesus Christ really?

Thanks, OP - Rockets in Six!

We do have some of the most fickle fans but please know that Harden and crew will bounce back against this team. Did we expect to meet zero resistance??? How did the Warriors do last night with the MVP and Home Court? Basketball is great: let's chill, support our team, and watch them grow together!

    20+ years

I think we're allowed to be fickle. It's been 20 years since a Houston fan of any sport has been able to celebrate something (sorry 2005 astros, you got swept). Rockets are supposed to be that team we can lean on, and all Morey and co. has produced is mediocrity and slightly above average teams. That's why when you assemble a team like this, a team that is easily capable of making it to the top, we get frustrated with the lack of effort. We're tired of having quiet/passive superstars. Give me a team full of nobodies that put up a 22-game win streak effort rather than a team full of stars who walk back on defense and turn the ball over 24 times.

Thank You for the shot of optimism in what has been a dark hole of sadness for the last 2 days. Basketball is a game of ebbs and flows. Clips are in a good flow right now, and we just had one of our worst games in a while. Still TBD on whether or not we can hit our stride before it's too late, but some of you all seriously need to talk to someone. It is not healthy to react this outrageously to one bad game in a high variance sport like basketball. Way more important things out there guys.

This place is absolutely infuriating to read after a loss. Regular Season, Playoffs it doesn't matter.

For as smart as some of you are after a loss you lose all semblance of logic and rationale and start flinging poo at anything rockets related.

Its been so bad over the years i find my self here just for the news and draft views, and the occasional gif thread.

A true leader bring his peeps to the promise land. If not, he can kiss that role good bye.
