where has this been all year? Been looking for this since we got howard and FINALLY

    genius mchale?

bringing out the secret weapon that was there all along?

Even though I hated the jazz we should do this every play ..wear it out like stockton and malone.

I'm particularly in love with the short corner PnR where Dwight feeds Harden in the Post and then sets a pick for him. Harden got 3 lobs to Dwight off that.

curious why Rockets didn't go to it in winning time. Harden went almost exclusively Marvel in OT and at the end of regulation.

Keep running this! Why they don't enjoy this play beats me, but we need this for success

The play was here all year.

There are a group of idiots only always compliant about Howard for not setting any solid pick and blame mchale never know how to play P&r,

In fact, these idiots never know the P&r with harden and Howard was never a solid wall pick like asik, it's always rolling.

That play is so rare, but so beautiful when executed perfectly.

Appreciate it but do NOT give Kevin credit for that. That is not a coaching play that he deserves props for. It's too basic.

Now, if he knew better, he would consider putting Cisco on the court during those PnRs that are clogged up to spread the corners.

Also, Kevin, LMA isn't MJ. You can guard him and it doesn't have to be Dwight and Omer.

It sucks that Kevin has plenty of tools to alleviate the problem, but he doesn't know how to use them.

Watch some of the games where a smaller defender fronted LMA with a bigger guy right behind. LMA isn't as mobile in that position. I'll take my chances with Robin Lopez.

There are only a few guys that can guard LMA on this team straight up, but Dwight truly is the best option, though the most risky.

However, if you ARE A COACH, you adjust and realize that it doesn't always have to be height to disrupt a shot. It's the position and the disarray during the catch and shoot. LMA is scoring because his looks are predictable and easy. Kevin doesn't know how to vary his adjustments.

If he weren't so defensively limited, this series would be 3-0 us. LMA is an AMAZING talent, but he is not Karl Malone in the finals, a prime Tim Duncan or an unstoppable Hakeem.

He is getting open jumpers from predictable defensive moves.

The only props McHale get is keeping Troy in, though in many cases, that is a really terrible decision in terms of playoff experience. Huge Risk, but it worked.

Troy won the game. McHale is lucky to not be at the podium planning his summer vacation just yet.

They need to keep running the high pick and roll and the low post pick and roll next game. They can't guard it

    Need more Pick and Roll.

    Harden and Dwight P&R
Lin and Harden P&R or Pick and Pop (get Lillard defending Harden)
Lin and Dwight P&R (Lin and Tyson Chandler executed this great on the Knicks)

    Portland can't stop this.

Funny how giving credit to McHale for the Harden Howard PnR is mentioned, but the fact that every single end of quarter meltdown we have is because we go away from it and instead we go Harden iso ball milk the clock shoot a contested long 2/3pt shot that goes in 10% of the time which leads to Harden being gassed and give even less energy on the D side of the ball which leads to easy points for the other guys on the other end.

    Talk about clueless coaching.

This was driving me crazy. The P&R was so effective tonight that Portland had no answer. Just like how we have no real solution to Aldridge. We need to do this more.

We used P&R when we had Yao and Mcgrady but thankfully Dwight is more suited for the P&R because of his mobility, than Yao. Playoffs is all about possessions and we can't rely on Iso-Howard or Iso-Harden ball. If we still had Yao, I like the "dumping into the big man" but with Dwight we can do P&R better than when we had Yao.

They should have run this NON. STOP.

Both the Mavs and Spurs exploited our inability to defend the PNR earlier this season and ran the same exact play about 10x up the court in a row. I specifically remember Dirk & Calderon doing it over and over and over and over again, while we floundered helplessly. We should have run it down their throats tonight.

    Pause.

Please please more of this. PNR them to death. This is too lethal, and almost unstoppable.

Can somebody tweet or text Morey? Watching them go away from the P&R and lose leads was so frustrating.

bump.. seems like we went away from it dude. wholesale abandon.

fitting the pnr as an 'appreciation' thread.

it's as if we traded away the concept of pnr howard harden?

Are we keeping it as a secret weapon to unleash in the playoffs version 2015?

harden is one of the best penetrators in the game and howard is a big man dunker beast. basically if I were designing two players in the lab that I wanted to kick ass at pnr I would make harden and howard.

so seriously wtf? We need like an official explanation at this point.

This should be the play EVERY TIME. it's boring but all damn day.

It's too easy apparently. Or maybe howard fancies himself as back to the basket only?

Why are we not seeing this? contact morey? anyone?

    #FREEHardenHowardPNR

    help please

Can we talk about how Ariza always misses the lob to Dwight?

If Ariza wouldnt dribble with his head down it would be a deadly weapon as for some reason they alway leave dwight open when he screens for Ariza

It would work if we didn't have a PF you don't even have to guard. That was an awful performance by Jones tonight. No energy. Not sure why he shut down, but he did.

Also....The PNR with Harden doesnt work cause you have Jones man just camping in the lane behind howard so he cant roll for a lob

Fck a 3pt shot, just get Jones a LMA type shot, you really see his limits in a set defense
