It's hard to have a 'heart' when the owner wants to end the season ASAP and has the players go along with the program so he could deal with the aftermath of a divorce and maybe think about selling the team to make up for the financial loss.

les wants to sell to a singular owner, not a group. that hinders chances of celebrity minority owners like hakeem, deke, beyonce, etc...

however, if it helps boost sales and adds value to the club, i can see a small (1%?) stake going to a celebrity owner. that's what brooklyn did with jay-z and it worked to carve out a decent following away from the knicks, not only in brooklyn but in all boroughs of NYC including manhattan (i live in NYC). many jay-z fans in ny started wearing nets gear.
    • yao's presence would add even more sales in china and maintain our team's stronghold there.
    • beyonce would open up bandwagon sales in the US. even people who don't watch basketball would wear rockets gear because of her.
    • unfortunately, hakeem, deke, or morey having minority stake wouldn't add value to the club or boost sales.

add in matt maloney too.. he can probably buy a good 10% ownership with all the money rockets threw at him. in fact he and cato could join up and purchase 20% ownership.

This shouldn't be allowed since Jayz is part owner of the Nets so isn't this like one household having 2 teams? If their kids inherit their assets their kid will have 2 teams. If it does happen though I bet lots of stars would want to play for the Rox c'mon you can see Beyonce everyday? Banana boat team would probably be complete next year lmao

If it is Jay Z's money the NBA should be very careful about this. Can't touch that.

Jay-Z sold his stake in the Nets so he could start a sports agency. I wonder how much paper Hakeem has. They had Beyoncé's net worth at $350 million I believe.
