I wear contacts (not as much anymore, mostly glasses) but i never wanted to wear the colored ones. I never wanted to attract the boob implanted unbe-"weave"able crowd so i kept it natural to attract the natural.

Go for it if you want to for yourself. It seems like you do want to try it but are a little afraid of the reactions you'll get. Back in the day (3-4 yrs ago) when pink shirts were a trend, I liked them so I would wear them even though there would be mixed reactions because I wanted to. Luckily for me, guys might have thought it was gay but most chicks liked it.

I have had one friend that tried colored contacts and out of all the colors available this fool had to pick purple.

Astros why do you keep asking what do you think the reaction will be. It's just contacts,the girls will either say nothing about them, ask what color are they, or ask are those your real eyes. They won't tell you they look horrible or anything.
