Interestingly enough, I have found that going out of my way to avoid personal attacks on anyone, but instead focus 100% on attacking viewpoints actually results in more vitriol not less.
Well of course. Personal attacks validates a person, because they've made you upset. Now you're the dumb blue haired liberal they've triggered. Attacking their ideas might make them re-think what they believe, and cognitive dissonance is a scary feeling.
Really wish the rules were harsher, and that personal insults would result in a timeout. Forums can become toxic without moderation - IMHO, we would be better off with stricter rules. DD
