GTA4: PS3 Gamer Tags

I got a better fix.
You can still get on with PSN

go to your internet browser
and delete your cookies, history, and cache


i was playing gta iv with psn off
and when i figured this out

i was able to play it with PSN on and no more freezing

its like everytime i see that you are logged in it says that you are running it lol

its cool that people use folding at home to find cures but i dont think Stanford should be wearing out our systems because they need computer power, why dont they just buy a supercomputer? lol

 

Yeah, I suppose not. There were two other joke ones in the original list, I guess that one just got past me.

I edited that out and put in oomp's PSN.

It also doesn't seem to wear out PS3s too much from what I understand. I usually only use it when I'm downloading or doing something like that (I rarely leave it running just for the sake of running the application). I just bought the system, and my GTAIV game updated the firmware so I could play it. I was at 2.17 or something like that , I can't remember.

 

I must have missed it where Stanford is forcing us to run the app?

I don't run it but i know alot of people do just for the hell of it and i have a friend who says it messed up his system and he had to format his hard drive.

 

Oh you should hook it up to the internet soon, 2.30 has been out for a few weeks

 

yeah, that's the reason why I never run it

it's basically equivalent to running your computer's CPU at 100% load 24/7...which shortens the lifespan of the chip. I mean it's fine for a while, but it certainly can't be good for it

Yeah, I wouldn't run it 24/7. Some people do that, including some of the Folding@Home staff, and they haven't had many issues (if any).

Like I said, I just run it occasionally when I have the system on but I'm not directly using it. Guess it helps when it takes an hour or so to download a demo or some of the larger content.

 

Can the PS3 download demos while it's in standby mode or do I have to leave it on still?

I love COD4 so I'll try to hit you up...I haven't played since i finished it so I know I'll be rusty...
