In the All Star ballot, Francis is ranked fifth in the voting for guards behind Jason Williams. How could this be possible, Williams is awful. Francis is averaging 18.6 ppg, 2.03 spg, 6.3 rpg and 6.1 apg. Williams is averaging 10.8 ppg, 5.4 apg, 2.3 rpg, and 1.583 spg.

Jason Williams hasnt been playing well enough to earn an all-star spot , But this is a fan based popularty contest , In the SG department Kobe and Derek Anderson are 1st 2nd , I think Michael Finley is getting screwed by that . Even if Francis passes Williams he will be third behind Kidd and Payton who deserve it more anyways .

Jason Williams also plays in Sacramento, where they sell out almost every home game. Wasn't there a thread about Houston having the league's worst attendance?? You can blame fan apathy down here for Steve being 5th in all star voting...The starting five for each all star team is a popularity contest...Now, the reserves for each team are chosen by the All Star coach, and Francis has a pretty good shot, IMO

It doesn't matter who comes after second....When the coaches choose 2 backup guards, the guards will be Francis and Payton......

the 5 guards will be Kobe, Kidd, Payton, Steve, and Finley. The coaches realize how important Steve is to this team and just what a player he is.Williams being in 4th is a joke but then again so is Zo and Hill being anywhere close to the top in all star votes. What kind of idiot fan would vote for them knowing they havent even played? Steve may be suffering from a lack of hometown support but I can tell you this much, NOBODY's filled out more damn ballots for Steve than I have.

Well the ballots only choose starters. I think that the coaches will choose steve to back them up.

All you need to know about how stupid the All-Star game is that Alonzo has the most center votes and he hasn't even played a minute all year! Granted, the East has no centers but please.

Because voters want to see a flashy guard who commits a TON of turnovers. Seriously, the fans dont have enough exposure Of Francis, because the Rockets are NEVER on national TV. The Kings are on TNT or TBS like every night, along with the Lakers, Blazers, and Knicks. I think we only have like one game on TNT all YEAR. How crappy is that???? If Francis got more National exposure, you would see those numbers jump significantly..........

And the bad thing is that R.A. might be the coach of the West since Sacremento has the best record and if it comes down to picking a reserve guard you know he will pick J-Dubb over Stevie.

Evnen if R.A. has the best record he doesnt pick the reserves by himself. The reserves are picked by a culmination of all Western Conference coaches with each coach not being able to choose their own players.

Steve is liked by many coaches in this league which is kind of a surprise to me.Coache's that like Steve are Don Nelson, Sydney Lowe, and even Dan Isell just to name a few. Steve will get in.

Well Horace does have a better turnaround....... ummm thats a joke. The all-stars as the Pro-bowl are about marketing for the sports, by getting the fans into the voting fans of teams who suck get a little energized that their players might be able to participate in a game that showcases the best. Thus you have idiots voting for Horace, Scotty, Zo, and Ghill. Anyhow the real deal is done by the AP after the season is over so fret not Nugzfan. Mickey D is a 1st teamer.

They ought to have a tournament where the all nba first team plays the all defensive team. That would be interesting. Of course, what if a defensive player was a member of the first team as well......

Why did JWill become popular in the first place? His whole career he's been overrated. He can't play defense, he turns it over too much, he takes bad shots. The attention he gets makes me sick.

    ATTENTION EVERYONE:
GO TO WWW.NBA.COM AND VOTE AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE FOR THE ROCKETS PLAYERS THAT ARE IN THE ALL-STAR GAME. IF THE WHOLE LEAGUE SEES HOW FRANCIS IS PLAYING, HOUSTON WILL GET SOME RESPECT.
    THANKS

rockss, Jwill is a good passer THATS IT. This guy is by far the worst decision maker in clutch time in the entire league. You should have seen how many horrible decisions he made against the pacers yesterday. Williams is not even a top 10 point guard
