@zacharylevine: As previously reported by @davidnuno of 1560, Mark Cuban said in an e-mail that he is not interested in purchasing the #Astros. -Z #hounews
This is true. I hope the next owner has lots and lots of money, but ideally can make smart baseball/business decisions too. It does us no good to have a guy with a boat load of cash but no idea/willingness on how to use it.
corect me if i'm wrong, but doesn't cuban routinely respond to emails? and why would you not trust what nunno said, other then the fact that you clearly didn't like what he reported? edit: and boom
He paid $117MM in 1993 but $800MM seems high... maybe the next owner will spend some $$ to get us a contender...
haha. no need to take offense. there was no way of knowing if you meant that he said it immediately in response to drayton's announcement yesterday, or if that's something he had told you in the past. i didn't want my dreams of him buying shattered that quickly after the news came out, i guess. congrats on being friends with mark cuban and getting the scoop.
that's what i'm thinking. this is obviously a different situation than the rangers going for $593M at auction, i don't see the astros, MMP lease, and TV deal being worth $207M more.
If all 41k CF members put in 20k each in the tip jar, we can all own the astros. Let's all head to the bank for a loan and tell them our crazy investment
