You are overthinking it. Kenny is just stating his opinion. Maybe he has pressure to come across as impartial but nothing he said was that out there. He has a point that LAC, OKC, SA - all are worse compared to years past when they lose Paul, Durant, and Leonard.

But I haven't seen anything where he says the Rockets don't have a chance. That's not his style anyway.

The MVP is a media award. It goes to the best story of the year. It doesn't have to do with who is the most deserving in reality.
