Seems obvious - free throws are boring and kind of embarrassing for the celebrities who miss.

Let them throw up a lob instead!

Does it matter? Clint, Chriss, one of the cheerleaders, bring back turbo if you like.

I mean it definitely matters. I don't want a player to get injured just so a fan can throw him a lob. Realistically speaking, most people would probably suck at passing even more so then shooting. This would be even more embarrassing.

Isn’t a First Pitch “boring and kinda embarrassing for the celebrities who miss” the catcher or bounce the ball to the plate.

And making a FT is much more exciting that throwing a lob ball strike to the plate. Maybe Baseball should let one of the players swing at the First Pitch like a home run derby.

Tilman can't afford 5k every game.. Won't be long before he makes it a three pointer.

the building is like 50% full at best at tip so most people aren’t seeing the miss anyways...not sure how it’s embarrassing either when the guys doing it aren’t known for their basketball abilities to begin with

They have protection. The celebrity would have more fun throwing a meatball for a homer than a boring strike with no batter there.

It’d be just as bad. Everyone can’t throw an oop. FTs are perfect.

We should have celebrities guarding Melo while he tries to make a midrange jumper. Tilman would probably save some money, add some entertainment value and put Melo to use.

How about Melo tries to guard the fan. This way there’s at least a chance.
