If being guilty of any crime is the basis of impeachment then should a President be impeached for jay walking?

I don't think it is worth it to impeach GW Bush but lets not forget that impeachment isn't a legal exercise but it is a political exercise. High crimes and misdemeanors means what ever a majority of Congress thinks it is.

 

I believe I stated I agreed that impeaching Clinton was foolish. I completely accept that enforcing the "letter of the law" with regards to impeachment does no one any good.

 

True you stated that and I wasn't disagreeing with you on that just pointing out that Deckard isn't off base in regard to looking at impeachment through a partisan exercise.
