    Description, please.

I hope it's not too 'cawntry.' Speaking of country, they play too damned much of it at the games last year.

No it sounds like the Notre Dame fight song, and the words are like "we cheer for the Texans; yes we do. We cheer for the red, white and blue..."

    Later it goes on to spell out " T - E - X - A - N - S" .

I will post it when I find it, if anyone else gets ahold of it, please post a link.

It is just your typical fight song similar to college songs or other NFL fight songs. Choir singing with a brass band. (I think they said Spring High School recorded it.) Someone said it was like Redskins fight song "Hail To The Redskins"

"...Texans Texans red white and blue
Texans Texans we cheer for you......T.....E.....X.....A.....N.....S....."
    (Something like that)

    Houston Texans Fight Song

Houston Texans, Red, White and Blue,

Houston Texans, We Cheer for You,

    Houston Texans, Living the Dream,

    WE ARE TEXAS’ TEAM.

Houston Texans, Fight ‘Till the End.

    Houston Texans, We’re Gonna Win,

    Houston Texans, Living the Dream,

    WE ARE TEXAS’ TEAM!

    T-E-X-A-N-S

    TEXANS!

    TEXANS!

    TEXANS!

    ------------------------------------

Robert and Janice McNair had a vision for a Houston Texans Fight Song that would energize the fans and capture the spirit and tradition of Texas football. The Houston Texans conducted a Fight Song Contest in the spring of 2003 and received many great entries. One, in particular, captured the tradition and spirit that the McNairs envisioned.

The Houston Texans Fight Song will be played during all home games -- prior to each game, after all Texans touchdowns/field goals and post-game. We encourage all Texans fans to incorporate the song into their tailgating activities and other gameday “rituals”.

At games, fans will be encouraged to sing along with the song and spell out the T-E-X-A-N-S at the end of the song.

Trust me it is terrible ! ! ! Link to the song IF YOU DARE

God bless them, they are great owners for a great organization, and do so much for the city, and I am elated they are doing such great things here in Houston.

    God help me!

In the words of George Bush "...not gonna do it..." The only way I would even THINK about humming the tune would be if they threatened to take away my tickets for not participating...

I have never heard a fight song that was good. They all pretty much sound the same.

But "Houston Oilers Number One" gets my vote for the worst.

Uugh, I am disgusted, my friend.

You have never heard this one.

Lyrics (A bit slow; 50 seconds in to get to them).

bamaslammer can atest to its greatness. ;)

I only hear it with Sweet Home Alabama, oh, maybe 5-10 times a week.

    Classic.

O wow, that was bad. I love the responses it's gettin in this thread, someone should show them to the person who's singing in the song. Maybe it wont be so bad when the crowd is roarin over the voice in it.

I liked the one that Chance McLain did last year before the inaugral season.

Fans not very receptive to new fight song

The Texans debuted their new fight song during Saturday night's preseason opener against Denver, hoping the tune -- and we use that word lightly -- would work their fans into a frenzy when played after each Texans touchdown or field goal.

Many fans are riled up, but it's not for the reasons the team had envisioned. The song took a beating on talk radio Monday, and the Texans have reconsidered the decision to bump Clay Walker's more identifiable Texans anthem from a year ago.

The team is asking fans to choose between the two songs on its Web site, www.houstontexans.com .

Man, it sounds like a freakin' Wagner Opera!! WTF?!?!?

NFL teams don't need fight songs. The Texans should just throw on SRV's The House Is a'Rockin after every touchdown and we're good to go.

    Fight song gone
The fans have spoken, and it's Clay Walker in a runaway.

One of the biggest debates in the brief existence of the Texans has been resolved democratically. Fans voting on the Texans' Web site decided overwhelmingly to dump the team's new fight song in favor of the country singer and Beaumont native's Football Time in Houston.

From now on, Walker's song, which essentially had been the team's anthem, will be the one heard at Reliant Stadium after the Texans score.
