[Feigen] Rockets' revamped bench key to championship aspirations

The Rockets see both Melo and PJ as primarily PFs and occasionally small ball Cs. Melo, PJ, and Clint will all play close to 30 mpg. If those two things are true, that means 90 out of 96 minutes of PF and C are taken. It isn't necessarily because no-one is capable, there is just no room. The Rockets are going to stagger the PF/C trio like they do their PG/SG, Harden/CP/Gordon.

 

i think it should come down to who earns it. If GG is the most effective and efficient then he should get those minutes.

I have been impressed with MCW, but I am intrigued to see what Knight does in MD's system. Knight is the most talented of that group. He could be a wildcard come playoff time. MD is a pg whisperer. Why wouldn't Knight be at his very best in this system?

I'm just excited to see how M.D. uses what could be the most explosive bench in recent NBA history. Our fringe rotation players like Gary Clark, Hart, and Chriss, ECT should get plenty of run as well in 4th quarters. We should lead the league in margin of victory, so everyone will get to eat in some capacity.

I think we beat the breaks off of most teams in this league on a regular basis this year.

Those were being called more often this preseason, which is why Curry almost got ejected in a preseason game. Hopefully that carries on into the regular season and playoffs as well.

As much as I hate the refs, let's not pretend like the only reason Golden State wins is due to officiating.

As long as this refers to NBA minutes you have a deal. You'd better put that money aside right now. The man played 124 minutes last season, and I'd be FLOORED if he played more than 500 minutes at the very most due to Capela, Nene, Chriss, and PJ Tucker (and at times Carmelo) not sucking up those minutes or being injured.

 

I'm sure you were dying to see more playing time for an injured Luc, Ryno, Joe Johnson, and Nene. I could understand the criticism if we never tried those guys at all, but every time we put even one of them in we got torched. Three of those guys are now gone and Nene is on his last legs. Are you really complaining that they weren't in the rotation? How many minutes should they have gotten?

MCW and this bench is just horrific. Harden needs to play 48 minutes for us to win. Even 10 minutes of MCW will cost us a win
